
Babatunde Adewolu
Head, Corporate Trust
Babatunde Adewolu is a Vice President and currently heads the Corporate Trusts Unit at First Trustees. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate & Securities Law from the University of London. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007.
Babatunde joined First Trustees Limited from the law firm of G. Elias & Co. and has led his team in many notable transactions within and outside the Nigerian capital market deploying trust structures of varying complexities. He specializes in financial services, law on secured credit, securities law and regulation, and trust law.
Prior to joining First Trustees, Babatunde had stints at the full business service law firm of B. Ayorinde & Co and later G. Elias & Co., where he practiced commercial litigation and arbitration.
In 2019, Babatunde received a recognition award from the Securities and Exchange Commission for his contributions to the regulation of trusteeship business in the Nigerian capital market.
Babatunde currently serves as the General Secretary of the Association of Corporate Trustees of Nigeria, he is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
