John Robert Lee

With over 40 years of leadership in global financial services, John Robert Lee is a seasoned executive specialising in Corporate & Institutional Banking and Wealth Management across Africa, with a particular focus on Nigeria. Having held senior roles at HSBC, Standard Chartered, and Bank J. Safra Sarasin, John has built and managed high-performing teams, developed strategic banking relationships, and driven significant asset growth.

Previously served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Geregu Power Plc, a publicly listed Nigerian power generation company, John contributed to board governance and oversight through active participation in Audit and Governance Committees.

A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, John is also an alumnus of the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Programme. Beyond the Boardroom, John serves as Treasurer of the Britain–Nigeria Educational Trust and is a member of the Royal Automobile Club in London.​
