Kemi Adewole
Non-Executive/Independent Director
Kemi Adewole is a Non-Executive/Independent Director of First Trustees and is the Founder, Lead Consultant at Protiquette Consults. Kemi has had a successful career in banking which started in Nigbel Merchant Bank in 1989. Kemi worked in Charted Bank where she rose through the ranks to become the head of Personal and Private Banking and joined First Bank of Nigeria in 2004. Whilst at First Bank of Nigeria, Kemi held various positions including the head of the Global Custody business which she was instrumental in setting up and growing as the first domestic Non-Pension Custody Service Provider. Kemi also held other senior management positions, including Citibank Nigeria where she served on the Management Committee as the Country Head of the Securities services business where she led high performing teams to deliver growth till her retirement in 2016.
Kemi built a successful career in the financial sector working for leading global and Nigerian institutions with particular expertise in Securities services, Consulting and Not-for-Profit sectors by driving corporate governance compliance. Kemi also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Pilot Securities Limited and an Advisory Board Member at Money Counsellors.
Kemi is a member of the Institute of Directors United Kingdom and Nigeria, the Harvard Women Execs on Boards United States of America, Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria and an Honorary Senior member of the Chartered Institute Bankers, Nigeria. She holds a BSc IN Business Administration from the University of Benin and an M.B.A in Marketing from the University of Lagos.
